Municipal
Water sources for municipal localities vary from ground water to lakes and rivers — even the sea itself. Few water sources remain pristine enough to be consumed without some form of treatment, however. DuPont Water Solutions offers expertise and advanced technologies that enable municipal water-treatment solutions such as wastewater treatment, drinking-water production, and trace contaminate removal.
Ion Exchange
Trace contaminants in water must be removed from muncipal drinking water or wastewater applications to meet health and safety regulations. Using selective contaminant removal or advanced IX filtration technology, DuPont IX resins address the removal of trace contaminants such as boron, chromate, nitrate, perchlorate, PFOS, PFOA, organics, color and more.
FilmTec RO technology provides the finest level of filtration, acting as a barrier to reject all salts and inorganic molecules. We provide the most widely used RO technology in the world and as a result, FilmTec is trusted globally by municipalities.
FilmTec NF elements can be used to purify public drinking water in areas where salts such as calcium and magnesium must be reduced, but the highest level of sodium rejection with RO membranes is not required. Compared to lime softening and zeolite softening technologies, nanofiltration membrane softening is a less-expensive alternative. The FilmTec NF270 nanofiltration membrane, for example, offers low salt rejection, low energy consumption, and stable performance after repetitive cleaning. These features make it a prime choice for contaminated surface waters.
Reverse Osmosis
Feed water sources vary greatly so an area's ability to produce drinking water may have unique challenges. DuPont's IntegraPac UF membranes provide the right solution for producing drinking water for a wide range of feed waters. Whether it’s a relatively clean or complex water source, we can help bring cost-effective, clean drinking water to communities.
